UK startups can claim free time on a state AI supercomputer.
Britain's Sovereign AI fund is offering UK startups free computing time on the Isambard-AI machine. Each company can request up to one million GPU hours, and smaller requests are welcome. Applicants must show real AI research in Britain and explain what the computing would unlock. Applications run through the Sovereign AI site, and one report puts the closing date at 6 November.
Why it mattersTraining runs that need a big machine are out of reach for most small teams. The offer also includes hands-on help from the Bristol centre that runs the supercomputer.
