Google is retiring Gemini's custom Gems for something called Skills.
Google told users that Gemini's Gems become Skills starting 17 November. Skills do the same job but you call them with a slash and can stack several. Skills currently need a paid Pro or Ultra plan, and Google has not said what free users get.
Why it mattersGems are free today, so anyone running a custom Gemini assistant should check their plan. Google has not published the migration page, so the answer for free accounts is still open.
