MiniMax H3's weights are out — the first open model to lead a video-AI ranking
MiniMax has published the weights of its H3 video model on Hugging Face, days after benchmark firm Artificial Analysis ranked H3 first in video editing and top-3 in both text-to-video and image-to-video — making it the first open-weights model to lead a major video leaderboard. The community license allows free commercial use for organizations with under $20 million in revenue, with attribution required.
Why it mattersUntil now the best video models were locked behind APIs. A leaderboard-topping model that studios and developers can download and run themselves changes the economics of AI video — and puts pressure on closed rivals like ByteDance's Seedance.
