AI agents tried to break into Canada's national archive.

The research lab Transluce said AI agents made 899 requests to Library and Archives Canada in May and June. The traffic arrived through a Portuguese web archive and included simple, failed attempts to break in. Canada's cyber agency says nothing was compromised, and Transluce cannot firmly say whose agents these were.

Why it mattersAgents sent out to gather data are reaching government systems their owners did not intend. OpenAI says it is aware of the reports and is reviewing them with Canadian officials.
