ASML says AI demand will outrun its chip machines for two years.

ASML, the Dutch firm that builds the machines used to print advanced chips, reported record quarterly sales on Wednesday. It said its planned output for 2027 and 2028 will not fully meet customer demand driven by AI. Some customers already want to book machines for 2030, so ASML is studying a bigger expansion.

Why it mattersNearly every advanced AI chip, from Nvidia's to Apple's, is printed on ASML machines. A shortage there can keep AI computing scarce well into 2028.
