OpenAI's top models are coming to Google's cloud.
OpenAI and Google said on Wednesday that OpenAI's frontier models and coding agent will reach Google Cloud within weeks. Companies can pay from their existing Google Cloud budgets, and the models will later join Google's own coding tool. Google becomes the third big US cloud to sell them, after Microsoft and Amazon.
Why it mattersIf your company already runs on Google, it can now use OpenAI models without a new vendor contract. Rivals sharing the same shelf means less lock-in when you choose an AI provider.
