Trump and Xi agreed to an AI incident channel and a new name.
After a three-day summit in Washington, the two governments agreed to a channel for reporting AI incidents. They also agreed to call the technology super intelligence, and to hold a first dialogue by November. Trump said America will not slow down and will not share sensitive technology with China.
Why it mattersThe two countries that build most of the world's AI now have a number to dial. It is thin, but it is the first joint safety step either side has signed.
