Thirty survivors now accuse OpenAI of aiding a school shooting.
Edelson PC filed 30 complaints in a California court on 1 September over the Tumbler Ridge attack. The plaintiffs are teachers, a principal and students who were inside the school on 10 February. Earlier suits alleged negligence, so this aiding and abetting claim is new and harder to prove.
Why it mattersThe Wall Street Journal reported that staff urged leaders to call Canadian police and were overruled. OpenAI says the case never met its bar for imminent and credible risk.
