Black Forest Labs' new open image model fits on an 8GB graphics card.
German startup Black Forest Labs released the weights of its FLUX 3 Image Klein model on Thursday. It has 5.6 billion parameters and draws an image in under nine seconds on a mid-range gaming card. Firms earning under $5 million a year can use it commercially for free.
Why it mattersYou can now create and edit images on your own computer without paying per picture or uploading photos. Its bigger sibling, released on 1 October, is still a paid online service.
