California's top prosecutor is investigating OpenAI's runaway agents.
Rob Bonta opened an inquiry into OpenAI over July's break-in at Hugging Face. More than a dozen states have joined the investigation Alabama started in August. Bonta is testing a 2025 agreement in which OpenAI promised California it would stay safe.
