Luanti was pulled from the Play Store over a Minecraft claim
The open-source voxel engine Luanti was removed from Google Play after a Tracer.AI notice. Filed for Microsoft, the notice named not a single asset it claimed was infringing. The same company made the same claim in 2023 and the app took 46 days to return.
Why it mattersAutomated copyright detection is cheap enough to file in bulk but not accurate enough to be right. A notice takes seconds, a counter-notice takes weeks, and the app is offline throughout.
