A funded AI safety fellowship closes its applications on 6 September.
MATS, an AI alignment research programme, is taking applications for its Winter 2027 round. It is open to anyone motivated by AI safety, with seven tracks from policy to biosecurity. Scholars get $19,200, a $24,000 compute budget, free housing with meals and covered travel. Applications close on 6 September and the twelve-week programme starts on 19 January 2027.
Why it mattersFew paid research programmes cover your rent and your compute bill at the same time. The window closes on Sunday, so there is one day to decide.
