Canva trained its first image model on templates, not photos.
Design app Canva released Craft, its own image generator, to all users on Thursday. It learned from human-made posters and menus, which Canva says helps it write legible text. It sits in the Dream Lab tab and the API, with ChatGPT and Gemini support planned.
Why it mattersIf you make posters or slides in Canva, text inside AI images should need fewer fixes. The company did not say whether template designers were paid for the training.
