Microsoft quietly dropped the Copilot+ name from its new laptops.
A Surface vice president confirmed this week that new Microsoft laptops no longer carry the Copilot+ badge. The machines still meet the same hardware bar and still run every Copilot+ feature. Microsoft launched the brand in 2024, then delayed Recall, its headline feature, over security holes.
Why it mattersThe label promised a new kind of computer and mostly delivered a sticker. Judge a laptop by the chip inside it, not by the AI word on the lid.
