The University of Sydney is buying ChatGPT for its whole campus.
The university will give all students and staff free ChatGPT Edu accounts in a staged rollout. The multi-year deal bars OpenAI from training its models on university data. Sydney is also putting a million dollars into a fund for AI sustainability research.
