Anthropic will scan widely used open-source code for bugs for free.

Anthropic opened a free security scanning service on Thursday for open-source maintainers. Core maintainers of widely used projects can sign up on Anthropic's red team site. Each finding arrives with a working exploit, an explanation and a suggested fix. There is no deadline, but the reports come straight from the model with no human review.

Why it mattersVolunteer maintainers hold up most software and almost never have a security budget. Model-written reports still need your judgement before you trust any suggested fix.
