Microsoft trained its biggest AI model yet in just 38 days.
Microsoft's AI unit said on Thursday it had finished the first training stage of MAI-Base-2. The model has 2.8 trillion parameters and learned on 16,000 graphics chips in August and September. Its AI chief Mustafa Suleyman told staff it beats OpenAI's comparable model while using a quarter of the compute.
