OpenAI's Sora video API shuts down tomorrow with no replacement.
OpenAI removes the Sora video generation service on Thursday, six months after it warned developers. Its own deprecation page lists no recommended replacement, and the cutoff comes with no grace period. The Sora app already closed in April, and OpenAI says the work continues only as research.
Why it mattersIf your product makes video through Sora, it stops working on Thursday. Whatever you built on it needs another vendor, and OpenAI does not suggest one.
