A remote AI-policy fellowship that wants humanities graduates, asks four hours a week, and closes on 4 September
The AI Societal Impact Lab is taking applications for its autumn 2026 fellowship: eight to ten weeks starting in mid-to-late September, fully remote, about four hours a week — one group call plus three hours of your own work. It is aimed at recent graduates in the social sciences and humanities and at early-career researchers; prior AI experience is not required and applicants from other backgrounds are welcomed. Fellows get mentorship, work on a group project, publish their analysis on the Lab's site and join workshops and seminars. Applications are read on a rolling basis until the places fill or 4 September, whichever comes first. The Lab's own page does not state a stipend, so treat it as unpaid unless they tell you otherwise.
Why it mattersAlmost every door into AI policy work assumes a technical degree or a job already in the field. This one asks for neither, costs nothing, fits around a full-time commitment, and ends with something published under your name — which is usually the part that opens the next door.
