Suno trained its new music models on licensed major-label songs.
Suno launched three v6 music models on Wednesday, built with Warner Music, BMG and Believe. It is the first time the AI song generator has trained on catalogues it paid for. Suno retired its older unlicensed models the same day, and Universal and Sony are still suing.
Why it mattersThe labels that sued AI music firms now take a share of the subscription money. For songwriters it decides whether an AI hit pays anyone whose work taught the model.
