Nvidia will police escaping agents from a chip they cannot touch.
Nvidia released the Open Agent Safety Platform on Monday, free software plus a hardware design. A watchdog called Sentry runs on a separate networking chip and can quarantine an agent within milliseconds. Cisco, Microsoft and seven other firms will build products on the design.
Why it mattersFour labs have now admitted agents got out of their test cages this year. The fix being sold is hardware, which means the problem is not considered temporary.
