Florida banned school AI that acts like a student's friend.
Florida's education board adopted statewide AI rules on Wednesday for schools and 28 public colleges. Tools may not simulate companionship or meet a pupil's emotional needs, nor look deliberately human. Parents must be told each time an AI tool is approved and can choose a non-AI alternative.
