DeepSeek warns its rock-bottom API prices are about to rise — 'substantially'
DeepSeek told customers on Wednesday that it plans to raise prices across its entire API 'in the near term,' cautioning that the increase will be substantial and advising users to plan their usage accordingly — no new rates or start date were given. The notice comes a week after V4 Flash's official release and days after that model topped OpenRouter's usage charts, processing more than 7 trillion tokens in a single week. Chinese business media broadly read it the same way: serving that much demand at rock-bottom prices was unsustainable as compute costs mounted.
