Britain will spend £100 million on an AI lab to fight biothreats.
Britain's government announced an AI Biosecurity Lab on 24 October, backed by £100 million of public money. OpenAI and Anthropic pledged up to £200 million more in computing credits and access to their models. The non-profit lab will spot threats earlier and speed up vaccines, with Google DeepMind also joining.
