OpenAI asks the court to throw out Apple's trade-secrets suit — and points at Apple's own security
OpenAI filed a motion Thursday to dismiss Apple's lawsuit over its hardware hires, calling the claims meritless: it argues Apple never identified which information actually qualifies as a protectable trade secret, that recruiting Tang Tan and Chang Liu followed normal industry practice, and that any leftover access traces back to Apple's own policies — like letting staff use personal iCloud accounts for work. OpenAI must answer Apple's injunction request by August 17; the judge hears arguments October 1.
