Los Angeles blocked every student from AI on school devices.
The Los Angeles school district confirmed on 2 September that students cannot use generative AI on its devices. Until this school year, students over 13 could use approved tools after a short training course. A district committee met the next day and reports back before the school year ends.
Why it mattersThe two largest school systems in America now both keep AI away from their students. If your child works on a district laptop, the chatbot is simply gone this year.
