The best AI finished 61.6% of a real circuit board design test.
A new test called EEBench asks AI models to design circuit boards in code, then simulates them. Claude Opus 5 led with 61.6%, while OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol managed 39.4%. The hardware toolmaker atopile runs it for free and says the work is not ready for medical devices.
