China's new home robot folds up and fits in a backpack.
A Chinese brand called Qiyuan started selling two home robots on Sunday. The 88-centimetre Q1 weighs 15 kilos, folds into a backpack and costs 19,999 yuan. Deliveries begin on 1 October, with shops open in seven Chinese cities.
Why it mattersHome robots have lived in demo videos, and this one has a price and a ship date. At about 2,800 dollars it is a gadget purchase, not a factory investment.
