A learning tools contest will hand out $4.5 million to builders.
The Learning Engineering Tools Competition is open to teachers, students, researchers and startups anywhere in the world. Prizes run from $50,000 for an early idea to $300,000 for a platform with 10,000 users. The four tracks cover teaching, assessment, the path from school to work, and education datasets. Round one asks only for a short abstract, and it is due on 13 October.
Why it mattersMost money for AI in schools goes to large vendors with sales teams. This one reads a two-page idea from whoever wrote it, including a single teacher.
