South Korea's president says AI helped hackers into four banks.
President Lee Jae Myung told his cabinet on Tuesday that signs of AI use appeared in recent bank hacks. About 25,000 Shinhan Bank customers had credit records leaked, and Hana and Kookmin lost smaller batches. Investigators have traced 28 internet addresses abroad and have named nobody yet.
Why it mattersLee said AI now lets people hack easily without special skills, and that is the part that scales. Bank defences were built for human attackers working at human speed.
