Google: AI helped fix more Chrome bugs in June than in the prior two years
Google says the two Chrome releases shipped in June patched 1,072 security bugs — more than the 1,036 fixed across the previous 23 releases spanning roughly two years. LLM agents now find flaws, reproduce reports, draft patches and write tests, with human developers reviewing the results. One AI-discovered flaw was a sandbox escape that had sat in the code for 13 years.
