Laya answers with a typed choice, a score or a yes-or-no instead of a sentence. It holds 421 million parameters, carries an Apache 2.0 licence and replies in about 33 milliseconds. It appeared on GitHub on 18 September as a free alternative to TypeSafe AI's paid Jev.
Why it mattersDecision models this small are cheap enough to run on your own laptop. Open weights mean this kind of routing no longer needs a vendor.
