Google's Africa lab closes applications on Monday

The Google Africa Applied AI Lab in Accra closes applications on 31 August. It is open to founders working full-time and to researchers planning to become founders. Selected teams get Gemini, Gemma and Veo before general release, plus mentorship and funding. The co-development term starts in mid-September and ends with a demo day in Accra.

Why it mattersThe real prize here is access, not the conditional money. Testing a product against an unreleased model is normally a privilege reserved for large partners.
