Only three House members voted against making data centres pay.
The US House passed the Ratepayer Protection Act on Wednesday by 417 votes to three. It orders states to consider forcing data centres to cover the grid upgrades they need. The standard applies above 100 megawatts, and the bill now moves to the Senate.
