Nvidia shut its revenue guarantee for small clouds in seven weeks
In July Nvidia offered to rent unused GPU capacity back from small cloud providers. The Wall Street Journal reported on 27 August that the programme had been shelved. Nvidia's own staff had reportedly warned it could attract an antitrust inquiry.
Why it mattersSuch a guarantee turns a chip sale into a promise, with Nvidia underwriting demand itself. Stopping it does not erase the existing exposure, only the appetite to defend the design.
