Google's medical AI interviewed patients before their doctor did.

Google and Boston hospital Beth Israel Deaconess let a chatbot called AMIE interview patients before urgent visits. Across 98 patients its first guess matched the doctor's final diagnosis 56% of the time. The Lancet published the study on Thursday, and the authors say larger trials must come next.
