OpenAI's Sam Altman and Anthropic's Dario Amodei briefed the UN Security Council on Wednesday. Amodei asked for independent evaluators placed inside frontier labs, and Altman backed that idea. France chaired the session, and members agree on safeguards but not on who writes them.
