Uber is funding the startup that rehired its most costly engineer.

The Financial Times says Travis Kalanick's robotics firm Atoms hired Anthony Levandowski to lead robotaxi work. Levandowski's theft of Google self driving files cost Uber about 350 million dollars and helped push Kalanick out. Uber has confirmed a 100 million dollar stake in Atoms, which denies any robotaxi plans.
