An open model beat Google Translate and DeepL across 50 languages.
Cohere released North Small Translate on Thursday and put the weights on Hugging Face. It holds 218 billion parameters but uses only 25 billion for each word it writes. The licence blocks commercial use, so companies must still call Cohere's sales team.
