Anthropic is named as the buyer in a $13.7bn compute deal.

RUM Group signed a six-year deal to sell $13.7 billion of GPU service from an unbuilt Georgia site. The Information named Anthropic as the unnamed customer, and neither company has confirmed it. RUM told investors it has no financing in place yet but must deliver anyway.

Why it mattersThe buyer also gets a warrant for 50.8 million shares priced at one cent each. Deals like this push the risk of the AI build-out onto small suppliers' balance sheets.
