This claim is unverified. Several AI news sites have published detailed write-ups saying xAI released Grok 4.6 on August 7, 2026, describing a 1.5-trillion-parameter model that improves on Grok 4.5 through better fine-tuning rather than more scale. The starting point is real: Elon Musk wrote on July 30 that Grok 4.6 comes out in a week. But xAI's public model documentation still lists grok-4.5 as its newest flagship text model, with no entry for 4.6, and the company has issued no announcement or benchmark numbers. The reported specifications also disagree — Chinese outlets cite 2 trillion parameters where English ones cite 1.5 trillion. We could not confirm that the model has been released.
