A hallucinated AI report nearly sent US troops onto a Chinese ship.
CNN reported on Friday that a US special operations analyst used a chatbot to write an intelligence report. The chatbot misread the cargo manifest and claimed the Chinese vessel carried nuclear weapon parts. Planes were already airborne this spring when officials caught the error and called off the boarding.
