Musk says SpaceX has closed $40 billion in debt to buy AI chips.

Elon Musk said on X on Sunday that SpaceX has closed $40 billion of debt to buy AI chips. SpaceX gave no details, but Musk said most can be repaid early and covers chips due in early 2027. He also warned that most of the 200-plus neocloud firms, which rent out AI servers, will fail or merge.

Why it mattersLenders are now choosing which AI builders get money, and Musk says smaller cloud firms are being cut off. If those firms fold, startups that rent their servers could face higher prices or sudden moves.
