A senior Pentagon official said the military has moved about 90% of its classified AI work off Anthropic. Emil Michael, the defence research chief, said the rest should be done by the end of September. OpenAI and Google models now carry the work Claude used to do.
Why it mattersAnthropic refused to let its model run mass surveillance or fully autonomous weapons, and lost the customer. One lab held its own red line and paid for it this openly.
