Anthropic and a lab will test 5,000 AI-designed proteins for free.
Anthropic and the automated lab Adaptyv Bio opened a global protein design competition. Anyone can enter a design, and the lab will test more than 5,000 of them at no cost. Anthropic adds up to $1 million in Claude credits, plus $250,000 of compute from Modal. Five challenges open weekly from 28 September to 31 October, and all results get published.
Why it mattersWet lab testing is the wall most amateur biology projects hit. Here someone else pays for it, and the failed designs get published too.
