Australia wants to let you switch off the social media algorithm.
Australia's government released draft online safety laws on Tuesday. Platforms would have to ask every user over sixteen whether they want a recommended feed at all. Fines reach about 109 million Australian dollars, and the bill goes to parliament this year.
