Alibaba's interpreter now translates you in your own voice.
Alibaba's Qwen team released LiveTranslate on Saturday, a model that interprets speech as you talk. It trails the speaker by 2.3 seconds, down from 2.8, and listens in 60 languages. It tells several speakers apart and copies each person's voice into the translation.
Why it mattersLive interpretation was the last common task machines still did badly. Alibaba sells it as a cloud service, so meeting apps can add it quickly.
