A Chinese theme park opens this week with 300 robots on staff.
Robot maker AgiBot and resort group Chimelong open their park in Zhuhai on 24 September. More than 300 robots will guide visitors, perform shows, sell goods and work in the hotel. The two firms also set up a joint research institute for robots in tourism.
Why it mattersA theme park is where most people will first stand next to a working robot. Daily crowds also produce failure data that no laboratory can stage.
