OpenAI said on Tuesday its agents proved that the Navier-Stokes fluid equations can break down. About 10,000 copies of an unreleased model ran 88 hours, and proof software checked the result. An NYU mathematician says OpenAI scooped his team and pushed him to drop a coauthor. (Correction: three mathematicians showed on 6 October that the verified Lean proof does not match the written one.)
